A 220m² apartment for a couple with three young children

Starting from scratch: The layout of the flat was completely reworked in response to the clients’ request for a large living room.

Respecting the past: Sarah chose to keep the existing fireplace in what became the kitchen. “When there’s something beautiful already in place, I do my best to maintain it,” she says.

Framework: As in many of her projects, dramatic archways mark the passage from one space to another, and black is used to create strong outlines.

Deep sleep: Another constant in her interiors is the use of upholstered walls consisting of vertical, padded panels that act as headboards. They help to bring a cozy, cocoon-like character to bedrooms.
